Scanning Product Barcodes to ensure order accuracy

I just wanted to know if anyone out there uses a third party app that can scan and verify that the product ordered is the product being shipped in the box.

Currently, Shipstation doesn't have a solution for this and I think it would be the perfect new feature to ensure order accuracy.


I've heard of GroovePacker but if anyone has a better solution, please let me know!

upgraded servers at same host. same domain, just different upgraded server with different folder locations. i.e. /home/public_html/ vs /home2/public_html. Now shipstation stops ! ugn

Custom Auto-Batch Script Using API

Hello,

I plan on hiring a freelancer to write a custom app to use with the ShipStation API for internal use. Before I do, I want to make sure the features I want are feasible.

Let's say I have 500 shipments that need to go out. The script should automatically place these shipments into batches containing 25 shipments each (total of 20 batches). It should then create shipping labels for each batch. Then it should export these shipping labels into a PDF. I need a custom label to be printed before each batch so the packer can sign off, this label will have Batch #, Date, and a place to sign off.

So the PDF should look something like this: Batch1SignLabel, Batch1ShippingLabels, Batch2SignLabel, Batch2ShippingLabels,.....etc.

Is something like this feasible with what the API has to offer?

I need a "HTTP Client API" for C language to interface with the shipstation API.

I am the programmer here. In order to connect to the Ship station API I need a HTTP Client API. The only programming language we have access to is "C".
With the C I can have that link the application program to the Ship station API. Has anyone done this before? Is there another method that might be better?

Label Printing Error and No Help After Three Days

We have been trying to get help for three days. Intermittently our labels are printing out as in the attached PDF. "Support" is saying it's a FedEx problem but that seems impossible since it happens right from the preview screen in ShipStation. For each order that does this, ee have to void, re-generate the orders, log into our ERP to redo the tracking number and log into Ebay or Amazon to correct the tracking numbers - hugely time-consuming. I tried calling but the phone message says to send an email to help@shipstation.com which - you guessed it - bounces back as an invalid address. Why on earth is that on the recorded message then?

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it?

Insured item damaged by USPS. How do I file a claim?

Hello. I sent a $999.00 item to a customer and it was insured for $99 through Shipstation and $900 additional "carrier insurance" that I added in Shipstation before I sent the package. The USPS damaged the package in the amount of $625, so Im wondering how I go about filing a claim for the damage?

Can I create a Ship From address that does not include the company name?

I'd like to have the ability to ship from a personal address that does not include the company name. However, even when I leave the company name out of the "Ship from" address, it still appears. Is there a trick or workaround?

For the sake of efficiency, we sometimes forget to check this box to speed up future shipments. Is there a way to have it automatically checked for all orders so that it doesn't get missed?

Jet.com integration?

Do you guys plan on integrating with Jet.com any time soon?

Their structure is a little different, but I believe you would be able to use their API. We currently use channel advisor for that, however, we're trying to slowly move away from Channeladvisor because of how expensive it is.

Would be nice to know if you guys are planning on integrating directly with Jet.

Packing Slip Template & PDF Margins

I have created a packing slip and coded it to be 8.5" x 11". I have programmed my printer to reduce the margins to their lowest setting: 0.1". My problem comes in when I go to preview my packing slip or print my packing slip they both have the 0.5" margins applied to each side. I was told by ShipStation that there is a solution to this issue that some of their users have figured out, but that they do not know the answer.

Has anyone been able to create a packing slip that didn't have the 0.5" margins on all sides? If so, how did you do it?

Sort orders and set ship by date in fuction of selected delivery date

Hi,
I just synced my Woocommerce store with Shipstation.

We ship perishable products for which our clients have to choose a delivery date which can be up to 2 months in advance. We use a plugin called Order Delivery Date Pro to get this information which is displayed on our invoices, emails and order pages. However, when I synced our store with Shipstation this information did not transfer over. I was told I would probably be able to import it using a custom field using this piece of code:

I contacted the plugin's developer to get the correct meta key to use but what he gave me did not work.

Once I'm able to import the delivery date I want to be able to sort the orders by delivery date and if possible I would like to set up an automation that calculates the ship by date based on the delivery date and the shipping method (1 or 2 days). I looked over the automation rules but I am not sure how I could set that up...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Product Listing Contains Multiple Different Product

Greetings everyone,

I have yet another question for the wise council of ShipStation. My company often sells kits that contain multiple different product. Is it possible for ShipStation to take a product that is actually a kit and break it down into the specific product that comprises the kit? I'll use an example below:

Kit Z is made up of Product A, 2x Product B and 5x Product C.

It is possible to tell Shipstation that Kit Z, which currently resides in ShipStation as a product, to break it down into its individual units for the picklist? I know that ShipStation is working on an inventory management system and I hope this is going to be a part of it if there is nothing that we can do right now.

Help to remove the bundle parent product from listing

Has the platform improved for this at all? I'm experiencing something similar to other issues I've seen listed but a few years back. I would like shipstation to only list the components of my kit and not the kit parent product itself (from woocomm). What's happening is the bundle package is coming in as line item (which doesn't work well on shipstation) and the individual components. So the efficiency and accuracy is off on the packing slip details. Is there a workaround yet?

A FoxyCart-inspired email template

So, I HATE the default shipping template. It's . . . awful. However, the default template that FoxyCart provides is pretty well done, so I decided to create a FoxyCart-inspired email template to make my store's branding more consistent. I had already tweaked the defaults on FoxyCart to match my branding before creating my ShipStation template (so this isn't a direct copy of their standard formatting), but hopefully, it will get people started or give them a more eye-catching alternative.

I THINK I've cleaned up most of the unnecessary breaks/leftover blocks/etc, but there may still be some embarrassing messes in there from fitting FoxyCart's square peg into ShipStation's a round hole. Make sure to edit the stuff in {curly braces}. Other than that, I hope someone finds this to be useful!

CPU Spike When Logged In

Anyone else's computer start humming after logging in to their Shipstation account? As soon as I log in, I can hear my laptops fan come on and if I'm viewing my CPU usage, it is hovering around 30-50% while I'm logged in. Doesn't do this for any other website I visit or even when I just open up IE or Chrome.

here is my error message:

Invalid SOAP message due to XML Schema validation failure. The 'http://stamps.com/xml/namespace/2017/06/swsim/swsimv63:Company' element is invalid - The value 'CAREER & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, LOYOLA MARYMOUNT U' is invalid according to its datatype 'http://stamps.com/xml/namespace/2017/06/swsim/swsimv63:string-0-50' - The actual length is greater than the MaxLength value.

I tried to shorten the amount of characters by changing "and" to &, and changing "University" to U. Not sure what to do without changing the shipping address?
