UPS Direct Delivery Only

Unsure on if i created a thread on this or not, but I have one created on the ideas portal thing.

My question is - why must we gain votes to get a fairly simple feature such as this, especially when it protects merchants to a great degree who ship expensive items?

The API location within UPS for this option is in the same location as the carbon neutral program (Which we have) along with the Signature Requirement options (Which we also have) - Adding the ability to force a package to be delivered ONLY to the labeled address adds a measured level of security to all of us merchants. We recently had a fraud attempt where the "Customer" shipped an order of items to the stolen credit cards actual billing address - so our fraud checks went cleanly. Once a shipping notification was sent for UPS 2nd Day - the "Customer" had the package re-routed through UPS MyChoice to an entirely different address. Luckily, the CC Holder was able to see this charge soon enough, and we were able to re-direct the packages back to our facility. But we almost missed it! This would have cost us several THOUSANDS!

Please ShipStation - add this option!!!!

Customize Packing Slip with Label

I am trying to print packing slip with labels using thermal printer. Somehow I am not able to find a way to customize that packing slip. I am able to create a new template and at store level made the new packing slip as default but still with labels its printing the out of the box template.

I just want to make some minor changes but not able to find a way. Any help with be appreciated.

I sell on multiple channels. I can print one channel at a time in the 'stores' section, but that can take a while to organize. Is there a way to print all of the orders from the main screen and have them come out by store? I've tried sorting by store, but that doesn't change the order of the packing slips. Is this possible?

Kickstarter Creator

Hi,
We just recently conducted a successful Kickstarter campaign and in a few months we're going to need to ship about 800 orders, so we're starting to plan the process.

Most of our customers will be in the U.S. but many are International. The basic package that most customers will receive includes a 9x12 book in a bumper box, five 9"x12" posters, and 5 greeting cards with envelopes. We're thinking that the cheapest method for domestic shipping may be to send the book via media mail and the other items in a rigid envelope (since media mail would not allow us to include everything). But we hate to send two separate shipments if it isn't necessary. We're also wondering what the cheapest International option will be. Ebay has a system whereby you ship within the U.S. to a central station and they handle the International. We're wondering if we need to find something like this.

I'd be very interested to hear, based upon this rough description, if anyone has any innovative ideas for how we can simplify this and keep it affordable. Unfortunately, many of these books will be personalized, so this could be a very complicated logistical process.

5 lines Customs Declaration limit - FIX

I'm getting the error about over 5 lines on my customs form.

However, I only have 2 different items. They are just different colors. (6 products total)

So, why can't the items either combine (In my case I have 5 lines that say "handmade ink pen") to say "handmade ink pen - 5" and not itself over and over on a new line.

OR..

Why can't it use my preset group name as the line on the form?

Seems like a very simple fix to a very bad problem.

We're a small dog related company. When we do promotions I cringe at the sight of our employee who decides that he will batch 2-3 days worth of jobs in one setting and have them all piled on the floor next to the ship station area. Then I find out today that he's not putting in packing slips (especially for the international folks) (I don't want to hear comments regarding yay or nay on packing slips. I'm a professional seller, and I'm old school, I want packing slips! LOL

Some items we cannot print in one day if we are waiting for new stock. So those items stay on hold in ship station. I hate when he says, "i have my own system that works..." or "I prefer to do this on my own so it doesn't get messed up" I understand, but as an owner, if I walk in and see 100 packing envelopes on the floor with no packing slips, all hand written on the tops with names of customers, and then being told, I have to do the postage now. This makes me crazy to see this. It's inefficient, it's messy, and to see him ever to have to train someone else to do this. Oh hell to the no!

Need advice, how do you all process these orders out of ship station?

Pick list first? Do you even use the pick list?
Print packing slips first and use those as your picking?
Print 100 labels at once? or One at a time and then place on packing?

We will continue to grow and with that I'd like to learn more about the process from others who ship out large quantities of small packages.

Squarespace Order Details - is there a way to map them into Shipstation?

In Squarespace, we are able to create workflow forms so when a customer checks out with a product we can ask them for additional details. For example, we offer a Buy 3 get 1 free lip balm. We have the workflow form in Squarespace with 4 different drop-downs to pick which flavors of lip balm they want in their custom 4-pack. It shows on the details of their squarespace order and email notification, but that info never comes across anywhere into Shipstaion. Is there a way to map this so it will come across? Even if it just pulls into the "notes from customer" or "internal notes" field? Right now, I have to watch our order notifications carefully and manually copy/paste the info into an internal note so that our personnel know what they're supposed to ship out. Thank you in advance!

Help avoiding printing batches twice!

There are a couple small issues with the "Mark as printed" feature for batches/labels. I have now recently had two batches printed twice, and the stress seriously can ruin nearly an entire day for me :-(

I could explain the two issues thoroughly which would take me at least 5 mins - But I will just skip it at this time and request for the resolution;

PLEASE, somehow integrate a function that will either automatically mark a batch as printed once the print job is sent to a printer - AND/OR at least create a warning that will display when you select to print a batch that has already been marked as printed.

(The idea solution for me would be that once I sent the batch to my printer, that it would automatically be marked as printed AND then archived, so that it is not in active view. I know that may not be ideal for everyone but I actually would imagine that it would be for most.)

Confirmation Question

Hello,

When processing orders in ShipStation, is there a way to make Delivery a default in the Confirmation section of Shipping Info Box?
I want tracking on all my Domestic Orders but it seems I have to click on the drop down box and choose Delivery. Otherwise it says No Confirmation.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

FedEx Rates

Hello,
I have an account with FedEx and great rates, however when orders import into ShipStation, I click on my FedEx orders to process and the pricing is always a few dollars higher. I have set up my account in ShipStation using my acct number and information, etc.

Can someone tell me if there is something I can do to get this too match the pricing. It's a real pain to have to manually log into the FedEx site and input all the info and print from the website.,.

Hundreds of orders not being imported from Big Cartel

Hi guys, I'm pretty desperate for some help here. I've submitted a help desk ticket but haven't had any response.

I've had a huge amount of sales the past week or so and have just noticed today that an unknown amount of Big Cartel orders
have not been importing into ship Station since January 2nd. It appears to be just some of the orders processed via stripe through Big Cartel.
It's not all orders paid via stripe, just an unknown amount. Anyone else had this issue?

I've had this happen to one or two orders in the past, but haven't thought too much about it, but now there are hundreds of orders to go through and I can't seem to figure out a way to
resolve this. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

BTW I've been using Ship Station for 3 years and use the Big Cartel, Etsy, and Shopify plug ins. So I know my way around a bit.

Market Place Notification Failed

Market Place Notification Failed (Amazon.com)

I've been getting a lot of these notification failures over the last week. "Transmit Tracking Data: Request is throttled". Is they a way to resubmit these in bulk? Clicking "retry failed steps" one by one is pretty time consuming. The notify marketplace(s) action button is greyed out.

What's the behavior if a webhook request is sent and a 404 is returned? (like...my server is rebooting or something).
Will the webhook fire again at a later time?

PHP Samples

I am having a hard time finding any realistic PHP examples for integrating custom PHP code with shipStation. Is it possible to give us any real world examples of creating an order with items and sending it through to the shipStation end point using PHP? I have tried a few examples online and still have yet to be able to use the API in this fashion. Many thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated.

Packing List Templates

So...I've got this issue with complex kitting/assemblies.
More than the inventory function can handle.

So, I thought I'd try and do lookups on my server. Which works great...except for the part numbers that have a space in them.
I'm using to generate an image to put into the cell in the template.

However, I can't use JS to encode the URL so any sku with spaces...doesn't match to any of my data.

Is there anyway to url_encode the sku?
OR...anyway to selectively turn on script tags?

My next thought is to just send over the order ID, but the nature of products is that a lot of these will have multiple line items, so I'd need the order number and SKU again...which I can't pass due to the space.

Stitch Labs Not Syncing

Ok, I have a Shopify Store and have been working with StitchLabs for inventory tracking, etc... I recently started using ShipStation. At first I just added my Shopify store to ShipStation. Then after reading an article on StitchLabs website (see below) I was under the impression that I should delete my Shopify Store from ShipStation and only add my StitchlLab account. So I went ahead and did that with the API Key and that all seemed to link fine. But now all of my orders are not showing in ShiStation anymore. I did a manual update and still nothing. Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong. Thanks
