BigCommerce 500% price increase, need new cart provider

Hello everyone, I've been with BigCommerce for 4 years and ShipStation for 2. BigCommerce just quietly announced they are changing their pricing structure next year based on both revenue and volume which is raising our rate by 530%!

Needless to say I need to find a new cart provider. Can anyone currently running stores (not cart salespeople) make any recommendations?

My store sells to both retail and wholesale customers with product pricing based on customer groups, so that is an important feature I need to retain. My store is also integrated with ShipStation for obvious reasons, and other integrations include Paypal with checkout available on my website. I stock approx 100 products. I have been in business many years and in the past used CubeCart, OpenCart, osCommerce, and Fortune 3, before moving to BigCommerce.

New Carrier Pickup Option

It's great that we can now request a carrier pickup from the USPS but it's not quite right. It's telling me that pickups with only First Class packages are not allowed, but this is not correct. Most days I request a carrier pickup via the USPS website and 90% of my packages are First Class. Will you be able to correct this or will I still have to use the USPS website to request a carrier pickup?

We have just started using barcodes to ship our orders and have some ideas that might make it faster and better.
The first idea would be when you use the barcode to directly ship the order; have it tell you if the address in unverified. We have been having orders get lost in the mail because we used that function and didn't know that it was missing important information.
The second would be to have an option that would make it so that you could split an order using a barcode. Whenever there are backordered items in someones order we split the order randomly so that it counts as partially shipped on our BigCommerce website.

Please consider implementing these ideas.

UPS surepost 4x8" labels req?

Our sales rep was telling us today that we need to print surepost on 4x8" labels. We will start shipping surepost in 2 days. Are we not going to be able to us the 4x6 termal labels? I don't see where shipstation even supports 4x8" labels.

Any feedback from people shipping surepost with shipstation please chime in on how you're doing it.

Delivery Status - Unknown

Hello,

We utilize ShipStation's delivery status "in-transit" to monitor shipments we suspect may be delayed.

I am looking over all of January for the delivery status "Unknown" and out of 60-70 shipments (all USPS First Class Mail), all of them have been delivered except one. What would it take for ShipStation to recognize these are all delivered? It takes a lot of time to review all these false positives. Note - they are all delivered within 2-4 days, so it isn't like weeks have passed and the system would give up on tracking.

I am starting to use automation rule to push orders to amazon multi-channel fulfillment. My rule include the condition that only verified address will go through. Today I saw an order with invalid address and it still went through. But in the drop down choice of "address verified" "equals" only has 3 choices - verified, warning, error. Also there is no "not equal", only unknown so I cannot say that if there is a problem with the address than don't push it to FBA MCF. Please help.

Multiple Quantities and Items - Can ShipStation pick the best fitting box?

I am setting up ShipStation to work with orders that come in with multiple quantities, and would like it if ShipStation could tell us what box to ship in. When an order comes in with just 1 product, ShipStation tells us exactly what box to use, because it is set within the product details. However, orders may consist any combination of our 7 different products, each product has a different package size and weight. Our goal is for ShipStation to tell us what box to use when orders come in, no matter the quantity or item combination.

Can ShipStation calculate the combined size of all products in an order, and pick the best fitting box for us to use? If so, how do I set this up?

I found automation rules and understand how to use those for setting specific quantities, but I was looking for a way to set it up with any possible order combination.

We are using Shipstation and love it, but during a server migration our opencart updated to 2.0 and shipstation isn't working anymore. I found a stack overflow page referencing something similar (not sure if I'm allowed to post links), but I still cant quite get it to work. Is this a known issue, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Hello,
I am shipping items that have unique Serial Numbers. Is there a way to scan the item's serial number so that it would show on packaging slip? If not, does anyone have ideas how to associate serials numbers with orders shipped?

Packaging Weight

The presets have been very helpful in setting packaging dimensions for our shipments. One of the very few drawbacks we've found is that there is no way to add the weight of packaging to the shipping weights. As a work around we use the filters and automation rules to add four ounces to each order to compensate for the smallest size packaging used, but the range of packaging weights is up to three pounds. I'd ask that the developers please consider adding an incremental weight to the presets to help compensate for different size packaging. It would give much more accurate rate information before packages even leave our facility. It would also greatly help us reconcile shipments sent vs billed.

As a paying customer, I really do not appreciate being greeted in correspondence with someone I don't know by "Hey there". Just because you're an internet company doesn't mean manners are optional. Please train your people to address customers respectfully.

ShipStation Connect Help

ShipStation was working great all morning like usual. Then this afternoon ShipStation Connect decided to put up a fight. It would not let me connect, so I cant print shipping labels. I tried everything. I updated to the latest version a couple days ago. I tried to refresh the connection but gave me a statement of "Application cannot be started. Contact the application vendor.". I then proceeded to delete Connect off of my computer and reloading it. Nope that did not work. So Im here with ordered to be shipped and cant print a label. Any suggestions? Anyone seen this before?

Company name of sender error when trying to create shipping label

I am just starting out on ship station. I get an error when trying to print a shipping label: "an error has occurred, company name of sender is a mandatory field". But I have looked everywhere and can't seem to figure out where Im missing info.

Shipping Volusion orders with FedEx SmartPost?

I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this. Volusion does not support FedEx SmartPost as a shipping method. They do support FedEx Ground, 2 Day, etc., just not SmartPost. I like to ship my free shipping orders SmartPost, because it is considerably cheaper than regular ground or home delivery. Since we just started using ShipStation, which does support SmartPost, I thought I would try importing a test order from Volusion and shipping via SmartPost. According to Volusion tech support, this doesn't work. We would certainly be able to send the order to ShipStation and print a label, but it would not ship confirm correctly in Volusion. Tech support told me that it might transfer the tracking number, but not as a clickable link, and the shipping method would not transfer either. Well, my test order looks fine. It does have a blank field for ship method, but shows the carrier is FedEx and shows a clickable link tracking number, both on the website and in the email confirmation. I tested the link from both places, and it works just fine.

I'm curious if anyone else has tried this, because I don't want to start shipping orders this way and find out down the road that something is going wrong that I'm missing from this test order.

We've been having this problem going on three weeks now. I've talked with FOUR different support agents, and the problem seems to be fixed at first, then goes back to being snafu all over again. This happens with single and multiple package orders: we go through the basic process, fill out all of our req'd info, hit "create label", go to the preview and hit "create label" on that screen and the cog spins and spins- the longest I've seen it go (just out of morbid curiosity) was around 25 minutes before giving up and re-starting the browser. Once the browser is re-started, it (usually) works fine. This is a step we shouldn't have to take. Our computer recently got auto-forced to Win 10, though we had the same issue before the hostile OS takeover. I've tried re-installing SS Connect, adding that to Windows "don't block" window, had support do a seller cache clearing, cleared the computer's cache several times. Anybody else having this problem? Today Connect was disabled because there was some kind of update for it, so I had to re-install it and add the printers again. What could possibly be causing this? OS? Ram? Selling channel (we have a manual orders channel that comes through from Quickbooks Premier using Connex)?, Browser (I've tried this with Firefox and Chrome with equal results)? Malevolent pixies residing in our shipping machine? Help!

Inventory Management! Which one is right for my business?

At the moment i am using the cloud cart connector to synchronize between shipstation and quickbooks online. Shipstation imports all my orders from (ebay, amazon, shopify, and many more platforms). Works great i am very happy with it. Now i am looking to find an inventory management system to fulfill all of my needs without having to re-import all of my products and orders that are already integrated with shipstation. While shipstation is working on an inventory control system, i need a temporary solution that does not offer shipping management. I love shipstation and will never need another shipping management system as long as they live! Bottom line: please help me find a simple inventory system that integrates and pulls data from shipstation that does not have a shipping management feature!

I'm trying to configure Shipstation with CS-Cart and am receiving this error: "ship station {"Message" :"Unable to connect to the marketplace! Error: Invalid data returned from API" }" Any thoughts?
